Powell Lake is a long, deep coastal lake on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, surrounded by steep forested mountains, rocky shorelines, and wilderness campsites. A canoe trip here combines sheltered paddling, ocean-like scenery, warm summer swimming, and access to quiet coves and rocky beaches. This route follows along the Sunshine Coast hiking trail. Paddlers have access to shore-front hiking huts as well as rustic campsites, and professionally groomed portage trails; many of which have canoe-rests posted at intervals along the path.
