Eric and Blair are the owners of Canada Canoe Maps.

In 2016, after having been canoe guiding for several years, we found that there was often a lot of unused space on topographical maps that could be put to better use when canoeing. By downloading the topographical maps and editing them, we could consistently cut down the number of maps to purchase by just making better use of the available space. Over the years we improved our design and style. We did away with purchasing full topographic maps (37×26 inch) and started to work instead with tabloids (11×17 inch) that could more easily fit into our map cases without leaving big creases. We started to get lots of compliments from other paddlers who would ask where we purchased our maps from. In 2025 we decided to take the leap and open our business to provide high quality maps to paddlers all around Canada. We wanted to find and share where the portages, rapids, and campsites were so that others could travel and love the backcountry as much as we have. A labour of passion, this business is not all that we do. Eric is a registered nurse currently pursuing becoming a nurse practitioner and Blair is an educator. Every summer we go back onto the rivers and trails to gather more first hand experience and bring that back to our maps. Blair does the bulk of this work going on multi-week solo trips primarily in the Manitoba and Northern Ontario wilderness every year.
