Originating from the Canadian/USA border at Angle Inlet off of Lake of the Woods, this route travels northeast through Kenora Ontario where it reaches the Winnipeg River and follows it to its terminus Lake Winnipeg. Passing through Eagle Nest Lake and Lac du Bonnet, after passing Pinawa, there is much more urbanization and easy access for pick up or evacuation. Paddlers should be cautious about water quality when travelling through farm or urban areas that have water run off or sewage dumping.
